LES PROTHÈSES MYOÉLECTRIQUES

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, there is a solution for upper limb amputees to improve their everyday life : to use a myoelectric protheses. This type of prosthese is controlled by the myoelectric signal, the electric signal generated by the muscular contraction. Unfortunately, they request too much effort by the user for the little liberty it offers for long-time everyday use. 

The objective of this Ter is to show the different ways to improve them. Thus, on this website, we will first describe how to get an electromyographic signal and how it is used to control prothese. Then we will describe the different ways to improve them, therefore the different pattern recognition methods, the targeted muscle reinnervation technique and the different feed-back methods. 

We saw that all these techniques can be combined or used separately. They are promising for the futur but still are on a research or clinical state.
